Christopher Rowe - BA, MA Economics and Law

Chairman

 

 A Graduate of Cambridge University in Economics and Law. Chris Rowe practiced in the UK and Perth where he consulted to the oil, gas and hard rock sectors of the resource industry, before becoming the Executive Chairman of Cultus Petroleum N.L. in 1979 where he served until 1990. During his tenure the company participated in a number of commercial discoveries in Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

He has subsequently acted as a Director or Chairman to a number of Resource and Service Companies with listings on the ASX and TSX. As well as Northern Star he is currently Chairman of ASX listed Target Energy Limited. He is also the Chairman of fund manager Hawkesbridge Capital Pty Ltd.

In addition to his resource related activities Chris Rowe acted as one of the Counsel Assisting the Royal Commission into W.A. Inc. and has served on the E.P.A of Western Australia as both a member and as Deputy Chairman.

 

Bill Beament - BEng-Mining (Hons)

Managing Director

 

Mr Beament is a mining engineer with more than 15 years experience in the resource sector in mine management including several senior management positions, including General Manager of the Eloise Copper Mine in Queensland and Operations manager for Barminco Limited with overall responsibility for 12 mine sites across Western Australia.

Michael Fotios - BSc (Hons) MAusIMM

Non-executive Director

 

Mr Fotios has qualifications in Geology specialising in Economic Geology with extensive experience in exploration throughout Australia working with gold, base metals, tantalum, tin and nickel from exploration to feasibility over the last 26 years. He previously held positions with Homestake Australia Limited and Sons of Gwalia Limited. He was Managing Director and a director with Tantalum Australia NL (now ABM Resources Ltd) from September 1999 to October 2005. He was Managing Director and a director with Galaxy Resources Limited from April 2006 to December 2008

Peter Farris - Diploma Business Perth Tech, Diploma Business RMIT, MAICD

Non-executive Director

 

Mr Farris is a well respected and highly credentialed businessman in the Perth real estate industry and corporate advisory services. He has managed and developed major real estate companies with turnovers in excess of $200 million and has extensive experience in company management. Mr Farris has held no board positions with other listed companies during the last three years. Member of nomination and remuneration committees, member of audit committee.

 

Karen Elizabeth Brown - BEc (Hons)

Company Secretary

 

Miss Brown is an honours graduate in economics from the University of Western Australia and is a director of Mineral Administration Services Pty Ltd which provides secretarial, financial and administration services to the Company. Miss Brown has considerable experience in corporate administration of listed companies over a period exceeding 22 years, primarily in the mineral exploration industry.

Ray Parry

Finance and Commercial Manager

 

Ray is an experienced finance executive with over 25 years experience in the mining and banking industry. Ray initially started out in banking working his way up to an executive level relationship management role. Subsequent to this he held the position of Regional Finance & Logistics Manager for Kerr-McGee Corporation looking after the companies interests in Oil & Gas exploration in the Asia Pacific region as well as the 50% ownership interest in the Tiwest Joint Venture. More recently, Ray has held the position of Commercial Manager with St Barbara Ltd overseeing the recommencement of mining and processing at the company’s flagship Gwalia mine as well as their Southern Cross operations.

Ray holds a Masters of Business Administration as well as a Degree in Accounting and Finance. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant.

 

Bernie Sostak

Manager of Geology

 

Mr Sostak is a geologist with over 20 years experience in the Gold Mining Industry. His experience includes mine geology, resource estimations,exploration,mine planning and general operations management.
He commenced his career in exploration with WMC before moving into commissioning and the mine geology management for Broken Hill Metals, Coolgardie Gold,Plutonic Resources,Homestake Mining and Barrick Gold in both Underground and Open Pit Operations. Bernie's most recent role was working for Barrick Gold Corporation as Director of Resource and Reserve Strategy for the past 5 years in a global role based in Toronto managing reserve replacement programs on 4 continents. Bernie has a Bachelor of Science from Monash University and a Diploma in Business Management.

 

Craig Jones

General Manager-Paulsens

 

Craig is a mining engineer with over 18 years experience in the mining industry predominately in the Underground gold sector. Craig initially started with PosGold in the Tennant Creek mineral field and has worked through all levels of mine site operations with a strong focus in mine designs and reserves estimations and operational effectiveness. Craig has experience working in many different mineral fields in Victoria, Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia. More recently he has acquired extensive knowledge of the Paulsens operation since early 2007 in numerous roles.
