Paulsens Regional Exploration

The high grade Paulsens underground Gold Mine and surrounding 162km² tenement package (excluding the Cullen Resources Ltd JV) are located in the Ashburton - West Pilbara Mineral Fields, 190km west of Paraburdoo. The region hosts a number of WA’s significant resource projects, with a resurgence currently occurring on the back of exploration and development of iron ore, gold and base metal projects.

Northern Star purchased the operating gold mine and tenement package from Intrepid Mines Ltd in July 2010, including processing facility (‘mill’), camp and supporting infrastructure. Camp facilities provide a reliable base for exploration operations, and as all tenements are located within 25km of the mill, any new gold deposits found can easily be processed.

Numerous gold targets exist on the Northern Star tenements, with the most advanced being the Belvedere project 7km south east of Paulsens Gold Mine which has numerous high grade gold drill intercepts including 5m @8.84g/t Au from 12m. Belvedere is on a granted Mining Licence and Northern Star will focus on determining if a resource can be estimated there.
