The Red Billabong project consists of one exploration licence and is located 45km southwest of the regional centre of Halls Creek, in the Kimberley Mineral Field of Western Australia.
Geologically the project is located within the highly mineralised Halls Creek Mobile Belt which hosts the Koongie Park Cu-Zn +/-Pb, Ag, Au deposit (15km ENE), Nicholson’s gold deposit (5km NE), the Savannah and Copernicus Nickel Mines, Argyle Diamond Mine and platinum / palladium mineralisation.

The Emull zinc - copper prospect occurs within the project area, with semi-massive to disseminated sulphide Zn-Cu-Ag +/- Au mineralisation confined to 4 main discontinuous lenses over a total strike length of 500m. The largest lens has a strike length of 500m and maximum width of 50m. Lenses consist of a +1% Zn and +0.5% Cu core within a broader +0.1% Cu-Zn envelope, to depths of around 100-150m vertical. Mineralisation is hosted by the Emull gabbro and intercalated felsic volcanic rocks of the Koongie Park Formation.
Drilling by Northern Star has defined anomalous Zn-Cu intercepts to depths up to 250m vertical, however high grade lenses are rare below 150m. Significant drill intercepts include:
Northern Star is currently evaluating the Emull Zn-Cu mineralisation to determine if an oxide resource can be estimated. Emull mineralisation remains open along strike, and other drill targets exist over the Red Billabong project area.
